Shrieve offers a fully integrated and wholly owned supply chain for high quality Guar Gum and Guar Gum slurries into the oilfield.

We are able to control the quality and specifications of our Guar products through our own production and processing plant in India. For our US customers, Guar Gum powder is blended and distributed to individual requirements from our blending and warehouseing facilities in Texas.

Guar gum is the endosperm of guar seed and is a cold water polysaccharide. It is produced from the guar plant, primarily grown in India and has become an essential ingredient for the oilfield services industry. It offers superior thickening for hydraulic fracturing water, combined with excellent friction reduction properties and is biodegradable.

The physical and performance characteristics of specific guar grades are determined by mechanical treatment before and after the endosperm is milled to its final, light tan flour form. Guar grades hydrate in both cold and hot water to yield viscous solutions.

Natural polymers, such as guar and derivatized guars, are utilized to viscosify fresh water and light brines to improve proppant transport properties. Readily crosslinked to further increase the viscosity and enhance proppant carrying capabilities while improving fluid loss.

Shrieve offers a range of BIO-COIL Xanthan and Shrieve Guar Slurry Gelling agents for use in coiled tubing applications.

Shrieve Guar II

A high quality, medium grade, self-hydrating guar gum that provides rapid viscosity development for fracturing fluid applications. It is highly dispersible, will not lump, and hydrates rapidly when added to fresh water, NaCl water, or KCl water. Shrieve Guar II can be added rapidly to base fluids to create slurry formulations. Shrieve Guar II does not contain internal buffers or enzyme breakers.

Shrieve Guar II-F

A high quality, medium grade, self-hydrating guar gum that provides rapid viscosity development for fracturing fluid applications. It contains less than 1% of a flow aid, non-crystalline silica, to assist with the free flowing properties of the dry powder. Shrieve Guar II-F is highly dispersible, will not lump, and hydrates rapidly when added to fresh water, NaCl water, or KCl water. Shrieve Guar II-F does not contain internal buffers or enzyme breakers.

Shrieve Guar II Slurry

A self-hydrating guar slurry that provides rapid viscosity development for fracturing fluid applications. The slurry concentration contains 4 lbs/gallon (0.48 kg/L) of 40-45 cp fast hydrating guar. The base fluid for the slurry is a low toxicity, non-detectable BTEX mineral oil that provides a stable slurry that is easy to handle for both continuous and batch mixing operations. Shrieve Guar II Slurry is highly dispersible, will not lump, and hydrates rapidly when added to fresh water, NaCl water, or KCl water. Shrieve Guar II Slurry does not contain internal buffers or enzyme breakers.

Shrieve Guar III Slurry

A self-hydrating guar slurry that provides rapid viscosity development for fracturing fluid applications. The slurry concentration contains 4 lbs/gallon (0.48 kg/L) of 35-40 cp fast hydrating guar. The base fluid for the slurry is a low toxicity, non-detectable BTEX mineral oil that provides a stable slurry that is easy to handle for both continuous and batch mixing operations. Shrieve Guar III Slurry is highly dispersible, will not lump, and hydrates rapidly when added to fresh water, NaCl water, or KCl water. Shrieve Guar III Slurry does not contain internal buffers or enzyme breakers.

BIO-COIL X35

A 3.5 lb/gal active, high purity xanthan gum slurry. It is used to design low-solids fluids that have effective carrying and suspending properties. BIO-COIL X35 is effective in most water-based fluid applications for rheology modification, solids suspension, and improved hole cleaning. It also provides friction reduction properties in coiled tubing applications.

BIO-COIL X40

A 4.0 lb/gal active, high purity xanthan gum slurry. It is used to design low-solids fluids that have effective carrying and suspending properties. BIO-COIL X40 is effective in most water-based fluid applications for rheology modification, solids suspension, and improved hole cleaning. It also provides friction reduction properties in coiled tubing applications.

BIO-COIL X47

A 4.7 lb/gal active, high purity xanthan gum slurry. It is used to design low-solids fluids that have effective carrying and suspending properties. BIO-COIL X47 is effective in most water-based fluid applications for rheology modification, solids suspension, and improved hole cleaning. It also provides friction reduction properties in coiled tubing applications.

BIO-COIL XG 350
