ZEROL® PAG COMPRESSOR LUBRICANTS FOR R134a & R717 REFRIGERANT SYSTEMS
Our standard ZEROL® PAG range are fully formulated ISO grade ‘single end-capped’ polyalkylene glycol lubricants designed specifically for application with R134a refrigerant in mobile air conditioning systems. These fully synthetic lubricants are a cost effective option for aftermarket applications where top-up of the existing system employing PAG lubricant is required during servicing.
ZEROL® PAGs will continue to offer a cost effective option for aftermarket applications where top-up of the existing system employing PAG lubricant is required during servicing and during R134a (HFC) refrigerant phase-down.
Shrieve ZEROL PAG series are produced in a range of ISO viscosity grades of 46, 100 and 150, in accordance with the typical requirements for most system designs. They offer the following:
Single end-capped PAG lubricant, formulated with wear prevention technology
Specifically designed for R134a refrigerant in mobile air conditioning systems
Excellent thermal, chemical and hydrolytic stability
Good hydrodynamic and boundary lubrication properties, resulting in minimised levels of wear
Full miscibility with R134a across the full MAC operating temperature range
Helps to reduce downtime and lowers maintenance costs
This water soluble polyalkylene glycol finds application in refrigeration compression applications, and is suitable for use with both R134a and R717 (NH3) refrigerants. ZEROL PAG R717 exhibits a viscosity of 52cSt at 40°C and is compliant for use in food applications (CFR 178.3570 listed) and therefore finds use in other relevant applications where incidental food contact compliance is required.

PAGs are hygroscopic and need to be handled carefully. However, a correctly installed PAG lubricant into a hermetic system has the ability to absorb a degree of water contamination and hold it in suspension, thereby reducing the risk of corrosion from free water being present within the system. Ester based lubricants can react with water to form acids that do present an increased risk of system corrosion.
