PROGILINE® AIR (AIR COMPRESSOR) LUBRICANTS

PROGILINE®AIR 8000 series are fully synthetic premium quality lubricants specifically designed to ensure rotary screw air compressors maintain optimum performance at a full range of operating temperatures.

PROGILINE® AIR 8000 series are formulated with superior PAG and POE basestocks in combination with a state-of-the-art additive package. The formulation provides outstanding performance in cooling, anti-wear protection, thermal stability and anti-oxidative properties.

The formulation is designed to ensure an absence of sludge, gum and coke formation. The expected product lifetime at typical air compressor operating conditions is 8000 hours.

  • Resists oxidation for long system life
  • Optimised cooling performance resulting in extended service intervals and equipment lifetime
  • Excellent lubricity, anti-wear property and load-carrying capability
  • High viscosity index for excellent viscosity-temperature behaviour thereby always ensuring adequate lubricant oil film from start-up to maximum operating conditions
  • Low product volatility and an absence of insoluble residues such as gum, varnish, sludge and coke, resulting in longer lifetime, lower maintenance cost and lower oil consumption rate
  • Outstanding thermal and chemical stability
  • Excellent rust and corrosion protection for longer component life
  • Readily biodegradable

These lubricants should not be mixed with mineral oil or PAO lubricants – complete drain, flush and refill is required. They show solvency towards common alkyd oil-based paints, but epoxy-based paints are typically resistive. If surfaces contacting the lubricant have been painted, they should be monitored for softening and lifting of the paint, and frequent maintenance of filters may be required.

PROGILINE® AIR 8000 series are compatible with standard hose and seal materials, and show preferable compatibility with elastomer types Viton, NBr and Fluoro-rubber. Elastomer types Neoprene, natural rubber, SBR, Buna-S and Butyl rubber are not recommended.

Please contact your regional Shrieve office for detailed application and compatibility recommendations together with further information on equipment conversion/change out procedures.
